Rachet had woken up before Lauren had, and apparently was being the most impatient of patients... not to mention he wasn't happy with who his 'doctor' was. But Lauren had been able to talk him into letting Starscream treat him, and after that they made a solid plan of action, despite Rachet being apprehensive about her executing a mission alone...
Lauren had cleaned her clothes, and put them back on, and by then the sun was setting, she scurried around the hanger, as Starscream had helped them come up with a solid plan. The EMP was small enough to carry, so she had placed it in a backpack, along with the scroll she had taken back from Rachet, and the two little energy pistols that Lauren had accused of merely being used to jump-star mopeds.
Felix had come back in, and saw her, and the expression on her face.
Starscream and Rachet even seemed to notice she was acting differently.
After gathering the last of what she needed she turned to Felix, "Hey grandad, can I borrow that only motorcycle of yours? Fair warning-you might not see it again."
Felix sighed, "Prissy, are you okay?"
She stood like one, she had an expression like one, and she spoke like one, "Affirmative, why do you ask?"
Felix blinked, "Because you're not acting like you."
Lauren turned back to the back pack, and pulled out the scroll, opened it up, and began rechecking the plans, "I know."
"Why?" he asked.
Lauren exhaled, "Because I can't be me right now, grandad... chances are I can never be me again..."
"Why?" he repeated, with a bit more concern.
Lauren turned to him, "Grandad, you've seen the decepticons, you saw what they did to Rachet... as an... Autobot-it is my sworn duty to protect humans and cybertronians alike from them."
"You were doing that just fine earlier today," he muttered.
"Nearly at the expense of Rachet's life," Lauren stated, "Look, grandad, I know where you are coming from, I do... but right now-I have to focus on my mission-then maybe I can worry about... being me.." She looked at him.
"Lauren, after your dad divorced your mom, you never had the chance to be a child, now if you keep being like this, you'll never even have the chance to actually be a teenager, these are important years of your life, important-developments, you can't just keep skipping over them like there won't be repercussions!" he warned.
Lauren shuddered, "I don't exactly have I choice at the moment... you were a soldier on time-don't tell me you wouldn't do the same thing I'm doing."
"Rachet said you haven't slept in a couple of days."
"That's okay, I've fainted twice, so I should be good, plus I drank a 5-Hour energy," she said, carelessly.
Felix nearly gaped, "That is not healthy."
Lauren put the scroll in her right pocket, leaving it to stick out a couple of inches, and placed the backpack on her back, "Living isn't healthy. Can I borrow the motorcycle or not?"
Felix sighed, rubbing his eyes, "Fine, take it."
Lauren walked over to the tarp covering the motorcycle, and removed it.
"Firefly."
Lauren turned to Starscream, letting her guard down, "Hm?"
"When you come back with Prime, what do you expect me to do?" he asked.
Lauren shrugged, "Starscream, you are you, be it decepticon, autobot, or neither. You choose your own path, as you chose to accompany me." She smiled, "If you don't want to come with us, at least stick around here... if I ever find that T-cog of your-I want to be able to return it, y'know?"
He blinked, "You'd do that?"
Lauren nodded, "Of course. Starscream, I know how it feels to never be able to... transform... no matter how much you want to-and if I can get your cog back to you, you can be dang-sure I'll do it."
Rachet over heard this, and leaned up to give Lauren an concerned, and slightly angry expression.
Lauren met his eyes, the looked back up to Starscream, "Think about it, and we can talk when I come back withe Optimus. Sound good?"
Starscream nodded.
"Lauren, if you leave me here teaming with a former decepticon, and your grandfather, I will never forgive you!" Rachet called.
"Noted, Rachet!" Lauren put on the biker's helmet, and looked to Felix, before turning the vehicle on.
"Last I check, you don't have a license!" he shouted.
Lauren shrugged, "Don't need one." She then turned the lights on, and rolled out. She prayed this wouldn't be her last action...because with Woods on her tailpipe-it would be a very real a possibility. I can't allow myself to be a child right now... not as long as I have an immediate mission. Maybe later. Lauren had been putting off being a kid for years, chances were she'd never get around to it, the closest she had ever come to being a kid was when she was crazy...
No, really guys...

The back tire was blown out by weapon's fire, and sent the front wheel back, crashing onto her right leg, and skidding to a painful halt.
Lauren shouted trying to grab her skinned leg, before she realized there was a noticeable streak of red blood. "AGH!" She acted quickly, shoving the back pack off her, and slipping out the EMP charge.
"Welcome back, Miss Courage."
