TFP: Faded...(Chapter III: Along Came a Spider...)
"Shadow-shadow, dark and cold, leave me to my fate long ago. Chaos-chaos, Unicron himself, be my witness to the stars. All alone, all my life, never to return, I stand alone all my life. The last I stand, the last I remain, but rise again will the Primes. By my honor, by my life, live for others, it is my duty. Stand strong, stand brave, live for right, live in valor, and unwavering in the face of darkness..." Lauren uttered those words over and over again, in a fearful tone. "Shadow-shadow, dark and cold..."
Optimus listened... he remembered saying those words or thinking of them-a long time ago, "Lauren, what is wrong?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all." She reached over, and pulled Fowler's spare 6-hour out of Optimus's glove compartment... if made her feel safer.
"You are a terrible liar, Lauren," Optimus commented.
"Could you please tell me the truth?" he asked, nicely.
Optimus was surprised... Lauren had always been honest when he asked her questions... meaning some
TFP: Faded... (Chapter II: Dark Horizons...)
"Mom, get down!" Adrenaline had greeted Lauren once again with a kick in her gut, and an explosion of butterflies in her stomach-the bad kind. Lauren vaulted forward, and when her shoes came up, they impacted Wood's jaw, "What the heck are you tryin' to pull here, Woods?!" There was hate in her eyes, she was starting to hate him... never had she met such a... jackhole. He was like a little human Megatron! Woods had popped back up, and responded with strong fist to her right cheek, which in turn sent her spinning, and to the ground. Lauren spit out the blood, chaos was ensuing, and she had lost sight of Optimus. In her mind Lauren had seen the Prime in a fight with Megatron, he skillfully spun backward, then from a distance, he gained momentum in another blow to Megatron's gut. Megatron recovered quickly, and swung his right leg out. Optimus ducked, under, and with a jumping-round-house kick, he had knocked Megatron down again.
"Lauren!" Melissa called.
Lauren then realized it was Woods
TFP: Faded... (Chapter I: Fight and Flight...)
Lauren screamed, coming back to. Her head resumed the throbbing, and she peered around. The smoke was so thick that as soon as she realized, her body began coughing vigorously. She stood, "What-where...?" she turned, and thats when she realized. She gazed at the scorched, unconscious Prime, "O-Optimus? I-I'm... back?" Lauren stood, and shook her head. "What-hap--?" It all came back in a flash, the bomb, the bridge... Woods. Lauren looked back... the bridge, or what had been the bridge was decimated. "Hey, Optimus?" she looked at him, not moving, "Optimus, come on, we need to get out of here... Optimus?" Lauren's concern began to grow. She patted his massive hand, "Optimus, can you hear me?"
There was the gentle hum of cybertronian life that Lauren knew so well, and she heard his spark... his optics cracked open, and looked around, but judging by their delayed movement, Optimus must have been severely injured. Of course, he had saved them both from the explosion.
Lauren coughed more, an
Transformers Prime... Who?
On a day like like any other Lauren and Optimus had left the the safety of the Autobot base, upon Lauren's suggestion to explore the rural side of the United Kingdom. Of course, Lauren had very different intetions... she just wanted to get out of the base period... Rachet never stopped trying to make a glorified ginueapig out of her. In hindsight she probably should have just told him how she felt about it, but as soon as she realized what a beautiful day it was, she couldn't resist a bit of cloud-watching.
Lauren laid peacefully on the grass, staring at the sky far above. She grinned, and looked at Optimus laying beside her, continuously adjusting his optics. Lauren sighed, "You aren't getting anything out of this, are you?"
"Oh-uh-no I... look, there's a... wolf?"
"Optimus, that's what you said the last thirteen guesses."
Optimus frowned, "You are correct... I am not understanding this."
"Imagination, Optimus... think of what the shape looks like to you," Lauren encouraged.
Transformers Prime: Faded... (Prologue)
The Texas sky was sunny, shining with an ungodly temperature that had spiked to at least forty degrees celsius... The weather frowned upon an individual with no untold power, at least not any longer... nothing unique is granted to those who have no use for such a speciality. Life can often seem meaningless, and none knew it better than a human girl named Lauren Ash Courage.
Lauren walked down the hall, with a lethal glare, she hated her life... she hated being normal. A routine life, with a common, nothing special, daily, occurrence. There was something she had forgotten, something very important, but she didn't care anymore. Whatever it had been, it abandoned her... just like everything did. There was something wrong with her, everyone knew it. There was a darkness in her, a growing darkness, with a powerful, growing vengeance...
A boy, a player-in other words, slipped around, and stood in her path, with a sly grin...
"Hey, babe." Terrence had been the one to stepped in front of her,
TFP: Surprise! (Epologue: Fading dreams...)
Lauren gasped, waking up-startled...
"Come on, we have to get to the bus!" called Allison, before walking out.
To Lauren's utter surprise... she was still in the physics class, notes to her left, and to her right the black notebook with the start to a story, with the single line "After Physics, Lauren had hopped on a bus, and rode over to the local community college. From the student cent..." There was the eyelash still on her hand. She looked about for a moment, then breathed, she still felt her heart racing-pumping... "O-Optimus?" Everything was already beginning to fade away.
She sat there ins shock... how could it all have been just a dream? Lauren wiped away the tears on her cheeks, she was so... sad? What happened? What was the point? No-she refused to believe it was just a dream... maybe it was like Narnia, and she just had to find a way back! Lauren packed up her things, and walked out the door, before stopping, and glancing back into the room. "I will be back... I have
How It Began"God, your two o'clock is here."
"I have a two o'clock?"
"He's been here since 7:45. I figured it's only polite to... sir."
God sighed. "Fine, send him in."
While He waited God cleared His desk of papers and blueprints; no need for outsiders to see His plans. Soon enough the door to His office opened and God stood, smiled, held out a hand towards one of the two visitor's chairs.
"God! Great stuff you're doing in sector 2-7-0! Great stuff!"
The man's hands were clammy, his handshake limp. Rumpled suit, porkpie hat, briefcase... oh Jes-- oh dear, a salesman. God's smile slipped a little but He soldiered on gamely. With luck He could shoo the poor guy away in a few minutes.
"So, what can I do for you?"
The man sat, briefcase across his knees. "Sector 2-7-0! Everyone's talking about it! What do you call it? Man and merman?"
"Man and woman, actually. And thanks. But we're pretty busy around here, and..."
"Oh! Right! No time for the wicked, eh?" The salesman winked and popped his briefcase,
