TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XXII: Happy Birthday...)With red optics, combined with a keen mind, Lauren sat with her legs folded, and her hands together, she meditated as Optimus had taught her. She was successful this time in touching the matrix with her mind. The small glass container she had been placed in was under some sort of scanner sending out a most annoying sound, similar to the noise of an electronic alarm clock.
Shockwave observed the human's strange control, noting the pulsing glow from the stone on her neck, then questioned, "Child, what is that on your neck?"
"A shard of the matrix of leadership," Lauren answered, maintaining her concentration.
"What is its function for you?" asked Shockwave.
"Maintaining the functionality of my optics," answered Lauren, "It somehow serves to control the energon fused within my blood."
Shockwave noted her cooperation, and her statement, before adjusting the scanner's frequency.
"Okay, Princess, that thing is starting to annoy even me-and I think it's gonna find me," whispered Blaster.
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XXI: The Change...)Optimus sat in the decepticon holding cell, holding Lauren in his right hand, and keeping himself sitting up with his left hand. Things had not gone as planned, but he had not completely expected Megatron to release Lauren, so he had made a plan anyway. They hadn't confiscated Lauren's bag either, which meant there was still a chance. Perhaps since Megatron intended to keep her, he believed she would need sustenance that the decepticons could not provide Optimus smiled, Megatron would be in for a surprise.
Lauren finally opened her optics, they flickered to life, and she sat up, "Optimus " she looked at him, then touched his hand, "We are as we were. I am human you should not have come, Optimus "
Optimus looked at her, for some reason her optics were red, "What I did was far from wise, but I did it knowing this: you are my responsibility, Lauren." He lifted her chin with his index servo, "And I was not going to allow you to suffer alone-for doing what you knew was

"M-Miss Courage?" Blaster asked, remaining on the counter in alt-mode. "May I talk to you-about Princess-about Lauren?"
Melissa turned from the boiling pasta on the stove, and stirred the meat sauce for the spaghetti, "Of course, Blaster, what is it?"
"Um I really-really care about Lauren," Blaster stated, "That's part of the reason that I wanted to stay here and make sure her family stayed safe."
"It's good to know she has some big 'bro-bots' like you five she cares about the five of you so much," Melissa replied. "And I'm grateful you stayed."
"Yeah-me too, but this is really weird," muttered Christopher, "So does Lauren walk around with a talking boom box?" he asked from the table.
"Uh-not exactly I kinda keep quiet," muttered Blaster, "But I'm ready to transform the second trouble finds us "
Melissa smiled, "Lauren mentioned how you saved her from Woods."
"Yeh-that guy is a total jerk," Blaster muttered, "but anyway I need to ask you, Miss C
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XIX: Theory...)
Lauren opened her optics, with static interference coming and going as she looked around, and tried to focus. She felt a resonating spark of some sort continuously keeping her from thinking to hard, like a metal restraint of some sort. The harder she thought, the more it hurt her, and the more jumbled up everything was.
"Stop trying to think."
Lauren looked over, where her optics found Shockwave working on a terminal, "Wha-t?..."
"The harder you think, the more your mind will be damaged as I run my sub-cranial scans. Your abnormal brainwaves are interfering with my work," stated Shockwave, "But if I keep you unconscious, then your mind works with even more haste stop thinking before you damage yourself."
Lauren glared at him, "Try-and stop-me "
"Inducing another activity scrambler, we'll see how long you can hold on," muttered Shockwave.
Lauren grimaced, "Agh-what-is-tha?"
Shockwave looked at her, "In words you can understand-the emitter is scrambling your brain waves
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XVIII: Falling Apart...)
Optimus rushed into the bridge room, throwing the backpack down, "Rachet, I came as soon as I felt Lauren's pain, once I woke up, what? Arcee, are you alright?"
The femme was on the ground, with Rachet scanning over hers structure.
"Ah-yeah," Arcee sighed, "Except for being knocked out by Optimus."
Optimus blinked, "What? Rachet, what has happened?"
Rachet sighed, for once he wasn't angry, he looked concerned, "Sh-He was scared very scared. You are fine, Arcee. Optimus simply wanted you out of the way."
"What do you mean 'scared'?" Optimus asked.
"He was in his quarters before this happened, it would be best to start there, let's go!" Rachet took Optimus, before helping Arcee up, "Arcee, please find Perceptor, and ask him to report to Optimus's quarters."
"First tell me what just happened," Arcee demanded.
"No, Optimus could be in trouble," Rachet replied, before running towards Optimus's quarters.
"Rachet, what do you mean-she was scared?" Optimus asked.
"I mean, she looke
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XVII: Family Matters...)
Lauren had blown the shield generator, escaping Optimus's quarters, and sprinted to the bridge room, where Arcee was on guard duty, and did not see Lauren's fist coming. "Sorry, Arcee." She set the femme against the wall, and ran to the bridge controls, punching in the coordinates, and implanted a virus to erase the coordinates so no one could follow her, she was about to run through the bridge, when Rachet called to her.
She looked back.
"What have you done?!"
Lauren grimaced, "I'm so sorry, Rachet! I had to-I'm sorry!" She then jumped through, and drew a cannon and a blade in each had, prepared for anything. Behind her was her grandparent's house, and before her stood Knockout, "Took you long enough."
"Sorry-I had a few distractions," Lauren muttered.
"Well, I'm certain it proved to be a challenge," Knockout chuckled, "It's a shame humans are your weakness, Prime!"
"Uh-forgetting something, Knockout?" Lauren asked.
"No-nothing in fact," Knockout grinned, "Everything is goin
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XVI: Diaries...)
Lauren looked around the bridge room, then seeing that he coast was clear, she snuck in. Everyone was seeing the kids off, while Lauren was supposed to be confined to Optimus's quarters, but she was motivated, and kept escaping. She spun up the ground bridge, and giggled mischievously, "Optimus can't act like a human-so I'll get someone who can coach him." She reached through the event horizon without actually going through, then grabbed the unsuspecting victim, and pulled him through.
Ryler blinked, waking up, as Lauren carried him back into the groundbridge room, "Wh-Optimus?"
"Lauren, Ryler," she corrected, "I need your help."
"Do you have any idea what time it is?" asked Ryler.
"0700 hours, but in your time zone it's still 0100, sorry, but Optimus has to go to school, and act like a human-I just need you to help him. While Rachet wasn't looking I managed to cook up a scheme. I got you a fake ID as Optimus's guide because he's supposed to be blind, and you're supposed to be from Sco
TFP: Shrouded... (Chapter XV: Confrontations...)
Lauren was in the middle of shutdown regeneration, when Optimus checked on her. He then walked on to Rachet's lab, and over to the cranial lynk Rachet had built for his current form. Lauren was fine physically, but he needed to assess her mental and psychological condition.
Rachet walked in moments later, "Taking another trip, Optimus?"
"I am," Optimus replied, "Do you have time to monitor my own activity?"
"Always for something of this gravity," Rachet replied.
Optimus nodded, then sat down, and closed his optics.
He was in his natural form. Within their mind, linked by the matrix, Optimus was quick to assess Lauren's status. At first glance, she seemed fine, better than usual in fact. Some of her bookcases had been placed back up, and the books had been restored to their book cases, but Optimus felt inside how wrong everything was. Some of the lights had turned purple, and as he looked closer, some of the books had turned black.
"The autobots have abandoned you, and now you are
