TFP: Fade... (Chapter VI: Conman...)
"Chaos be unleashed!" called the shadow.
"What?!" Rachet gasped.
Lauren gulped, she'd just hit a nerve...
"No it's not a bomb! Puh-lease! I am far more discrete than a-than a-than a decepticon!" He went on, "You think my solution would be to merely set of an incendiary device on a base populated by innocent soldiers simply following orders?! You're beginning to think like a decepticon!"
Lauren froze, hurt, and shocked by his words... she was left speechless, "Rachet... I--"
"You don't need to speak to her that way, it was just a question," muttered Starscream, rolling his eyes, "She's just a human."
Lauren sighed, had it not been for his last sentence, that would have been a noble move on Starscream's part, "I'm sorry, Rachet... I didn't mean to upset you..."
"Hmph!" He grunted in disdain, "It is a lovely device known as an electro-magnetic-pulse. I designed it to effect all technology-save Cybertronians."
Lauren nodded, head lowered, "Right." What does he mean I'm beginning
TFP: Faded... (Chapter V: Mind Games...)
Starscream remained concealed behind the barn, as Lauren peeked out. Her father's house would have plenty of tech to try to contact the bots on. But the place was garunteed top have feds there, and if it had been hard getting this far, it would be impossible to get in and out undetected. "Okay... um-I might need-no-no-no." Lauren turned and looked up to Starscream, "I'm gonna need back up-big time, but please don't squish anyone."
"Of course not, after all-that would be the decepticon thing to do, wouldn't it?" mocked Starscream.
"I'll be as fast as I can be. After we figure out a rendezvous point, I'll come back. Any questions?"
"Foolish human girl going into a house full of other humans looking to capture her," Starscream looked down at her, "Does that about sum it up?
Lauren gulped, "Yeeeah... wish me luck."
She sighed, and ran across the back yard, up to the back door, and looked in... when she felt that it was safe, she opened the door. That was the first sign that something
TFP: Faded... (Chapter IV: Seeing Stars...)
The shadow marveled at the sight, "You, Optimus Prime... have fallen." It drew closer, unnoticed, and chuckled as the Prime was cut from the webbing, and air-lifted away, "You were always so weak, all of you... it's what amuses me so!" The shadow then drifted away, wondering if Airachnid had succeeded in the girl's survival. After all, keeping them alive was never the huntress's strong suite. And even if the girl survived... that shadow would be waiting.
Her bones were shaking, everyone one of them. Lauren's vision cut in and out, more time passing with each phase. Last she saw were the bright white lights passing over her, and the pain came back all at once, but she wasn't worried about that, something had happened to Optimus, she felt it! "Optimus!"
"What is she saying?"
"She isn't making sense, she's loosing too much blood, we have to get her stabilized!"
An image took over her vision, the white lights became blue, and her hands were cybertronian, the pain was the s
TFP: Faded...(Chapter III: Along Came a Spider...)
"Shadow-shadow, dark and cold, leave me to my fate long ago. Chaos-chaos, Unicron himself, be my witness to the stars. All alone, all my life, never to return, I stand alone all my life. The last I stand, the last I remain, but rise again will the Primes. By my honor, by my life, live for others, it is my duty. Stand strong, stand brave, live for right, live in valor, and unwavering in the face of darkness..." Lauren uttered those words over and over again, in a fearful tone. "Shadow-shadow, dark and cold..."
Optimus listened... he remembered saying those words or thinking of them-a long time ago, "Lauren, what is wrong?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all." She reached over, and pulled Fowler's spare 6-hour out of Optimus's glove compartment... if made her feel safer.
"You are a terrible liar, Lauren," Optimus commented.
"Could you please tell me the truth?" he asked, nicely.
Optimus was surprised... Lauren had always been honest when he asked her questions... meaning some
TFP: Faded... (Chapter II: Dark Horizons...)
"Mom, get down!" Adrenaline had greeted Lauren once again with a kick in her gut, and an explosion of butterflies in her stomach-the bad kind. Lauren vaulted forward, and when her shoes came up, they impacted Wood's jaw, "What the heck are you tryin' to pull here, Woods?!" There was hate in her eyes, she was starting to hate him... never had she met such a... jackhole. He was like a little human Megatron! Woods had popped back up, and responded with strong fist to her right cheek, which in turn sent her spinning, and to the ground. Lauren spit out the blood, chaos was ensuing, and she had lost sight of Optimus. In her mind Lauren had seen the Prime in a fight with Megatron, he skillfully spun backward, then from a distance, he gained momentum in another blow to Megatron's gut. Megatron recovered quickly, and swung his right leg out. Optimus ducked, under, and with a jumping-round-house kick, he had knocked Megatron down again.
"Lauren!" Melissa called.
Lauren then realized it was Woods

Lauren screamed, coming back to. Her head resumed the throbbing, and she peered around. The smoke was so thick that as soon as she realized, her body began coughing vigorously. She stood, "What-where...?" she turned, and thats when she realized. She gazed at the scorched, unconscious Prime, "O-Optimus? I-I'm... back?" Lauren stood, and shook her head. "What-hap--?" It all came back in a flash, the bomb, the bridge... Woods. Lauren looked back... the bridge, or what had been the bridge was decimated. "Hey, Optimus?" she looked at him, not moving, "Optimus, come on, we need to get out of here... Optimus?" Lauren's concern began to grow. She patted his massive hand, "Optimus, can you hear me?"
There was the gentle hum of cybertronian life that Lauren knew so well, and she heard his spark... his optics cracked open, and looked around, but judging by their delayed movement, Optimus must have been severely injured. Of course, he had saved them both from the explosion.
Lauren coughed more, an

for seconds, minutes, hours.
You've been awake in this warm, dark room
and you don't know how long it's been
but now you're conscious
and it starts again--
the pain, strong and steady, in your chest.
You gain consciousness in this too warm morning
and your thoughts whir in endless loops
because it's either that or face the weight in your chest.
Light breaks though the window, soft and unwelcome
but you take it as a reluctant gift--
a new distraction from the feelings awake in your chest.
Awake, but not conscious.
So you think yourself in circles a little while longer
waiting for those quiet pains
(the constant reminder)
to gain consciousness.
